Michele Singer Reiner’s sisters, Suzanne and Martine, have surrounded Tracy, Jake and Romy with support as they cope with the tragic deaths of their parents.

Michele and her husband, Rob Reiner, shared sons Jake, 34, and Nick, 32, and daughter Romy, 27. Rob also adopted daughter Tracy, 61, during his first marriage to the late Penny Marshall.
The insider adds that Michele was “very close” to her sisters who “are grieving as well.” Despite their pain, Suzanne and Martine have “circled around” Michele and Rob’s kids as they navigate this difficult time.
“The community has really come together for the family as well, because Rob and Michele had such a huge network of close friends,” the source explains. “Everyone just wants to help in any way that they can. Rob and Michele did so much for so many people, oftentimes things people don’t even know about. They were incredible people.”
News broke on Sunday, December 14, that Rob and Michele were found dead in their Brentwood home after suffering apparent “stab wounds.” The couple died at ages 78 and 70, respectively.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” a spokesperson for the Reiner family shared in a statement on Sunday. “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
Rob and Michele’s official cause of death was listed as “multiple sharp force injuries,” per the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. Their deaths were ruled a homicide.
On Monday, December 15, Us confirmed that Rob and Michele’s son Nick was arrested in connection to his parents’ murders and taken into custody with no bail. He was later charged with two counts of first-degree murder and faces life in prison without parole or the death penalty if convicted.
Nick appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday, December 17, alongside his lawyer Alan Jackson who once represented Karen Read. Nick did not enter a plea and his next court date is scheduled for January 7, 2026.
Following the hearing, Jackson spoke to reporters outside the courthouse.
“This is a devastating tragedy that has befallen the Reiner family,” Jackson said. “We all recognized that our hearts go out to the entire Reiner family. There are very, very complex and serious issues that are associated with this case. Those need to be thoroughly, but very carefully dealt with and examined and looked at and analyzed.”
Jake and Romy broke their silence on the loss of their parents that same day.
“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience,” the siblings said in a statement. “They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”
Jake and Romy continued, “We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life. We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”
