Michelle and Barack Obama reached an impressive marriage milestone!
On Friday, October 3, the power couple marked their 33rd wedding anniversary with heartfelt messages on Instagram.
“We’ve been on quite the journey over the last 33 years — and yet, I love you even more today than the day we said ‘I do,’” the former first lady, 61, captioned a sweet snap of her and Barack. “Happy anniversary, @BarackObama! I’m so lucky to go through life with you. ❤️.”
As for the former president of the United States, 64, he shared the same picture as Michelle and captioned it, “The best decision I ever made was marrying you, @MichelleObama.”
“For 33 years, I’ve admired your strength, grace, and determination — and the fact that you look so good doing it all,” he added. “Happy anniversary!”

As Globe previously reported, the pair have been plagued by divorce rumors over the last few months, especially after Barack attended the inauguration of President Donald Trump by himself in January.
Additionally, last week, the A Promised Land author revealed that his eight years in the Oval Office caused marital issues.
“I was digging myself out of the hole I found myself with Michelle,” Barack admitted in an interview with historian David Olusoga, per the Daily Mail. “Now I’m at about level ground.”
In April, Barack expressed similar remarks about how his time serving the country from 2009 to 2017 affected his relationship with the IMO podcast host, according to The Hill.
“I was in a deep deficit with my wife,” he told Hamilton College President Steven Tepper. “So I have been trying to dig myself out of that hole by doing occasionally fun things.”
