Michelle Obama gets annoyed with husband Barack Obama for a surprising reason.
On the Wednesday, October 1, episode of her and brother Craig Robinson‘s IMO podcast, the duo welcomed therapist Dr. Orna Guralnik as a guest. During the episode, the former first lady, 61, talked about how her and Barack’s lives have changed since their children — Sasha, 24, and Malia, 27 — left home.
“We’ve noticed how much of our time we’ve spent talking about them, right?’” she admitted. “So now that we’re empty-nesters, it’s like, ‘Well, what are we going to talk about?”
“I’ll see him and it’s like, ‘what you been doing?’ It’s like, ‘Oh, don’t tell me until dinner because we got to have something to talk about at dinner,’” she explained. “So, if all throughout the course of the day I’m getting caught up on his stuff, then it’s like we’re sitting staring at each other.”

Dr. Guralnik then suggested it’s good to have raw conversations to know what your partner is really “thinking about” at the dinner table. The Becoming author confessed that sometimes the only thing on her mind is how the former President, 64, chews.
“Because how many times does somebody ask, ‘What are you thinking about?’ And you’re like, ‘Well, let me make up a thing because I don’t actually want to tell you what I was thinking about, which is like, ‘The way you’re chewing makes me want to smack you upside the head,’” Michelle revealed.
“Why does your chewing annoy me so much? Let’s discuss,” she joked. “Yeah, I don’t know if I’d bring that up.”
Michelle further admitted that it’s not just her who hates the sounds: “The girls and I are very irritated with the way Barack chews.”
