Miguel is a dad! And apparently, has been one for about a year.
The “Adore” singer, 39, took to Instagram early Tuesday (Sept. 9) to reveal that he has a son named Angelito celebrating his first birthday. The post featured a clip of the proud father holding the infant as the child’s face is pixelated for privacy.
“Our baby turned 1 today !!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELITO !!! We love you so much ! So proud and honored that you chose us to be your parents. Papá wrote you a song – hope it always reminds you of how loved you are,” wrote the songwriter, who then referred followers to his S1C platform to hear the new track, “angel’s song,” once they’ve signed up via email. It also features the cover art to the ditty dedicated to his first born.
While fans are always excited for new music from the crooner, more were interested in how the star kept his child a secret for so long.
“I beg your pardon, when did this happen???” wrote one fan on his page, with another adding, “Couldn’t be a slow roll out of baby feet 12 months ago? All I get is heartbreak over here.”
Many are also curious about the child’s mother. The woman with whom Miguel shares a son is Margaret Zhang, film director and the former Editor-In-Chief of Vogue China.
Miguel is currently preparing to drop new music, announcing last week that his upcoming fifth studio album, CAOS, is due to hit stores and streaming on Oct. 23, which also happens to be the Grammy winner’s 40th birthday.
