NATCHEZ — Minorville’s 36th Jubilee is Saturday and organizers are touting a packed agenda of events to celebrate one of the city’s most historic and oldest neighborhoods.
The day begins at 9:30 a.m. with a Freedom March at the corner of Minor Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Street.
One of the most exciting events this year is the Amos Polk and Alvin Shelby Gospel Choir, which will perform at the Macedonia Baptist Church at 33 Minor St. Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Community activities begin at noon and continue to 8 p.m. at 50 Minor St. Music will feature DZBuzz and events for young and old will include voter registration, face painting, a school supply giveaway, Pree’s Snow Cone Stand, a Cake Walk, space jumps, Brooklyn’s Lemonade Stand, the Natchez High School Band, health and wellness checkups, door prizes with tickets, delicious food.
