Miranda Lambert Proves Country Music Has Room for Every Story on New Album Crisco

Miranda Lambert has never been one to stay in one lane, and that’s exactly what makes her one of country music’s most enduring voices.

After more than 20 years of crafting songs that have become the soundtrack to heartbreak, healing, wild nights, and open-road adventures, the Texas native is once again throwing the rulebook out the window.

Lambert officially announced her highly anticipated new album, Crisco, arriving October 2 via MCA, and if the first details are any indication, fans are in for one of her most colorful and adventurous records yet.

A Celebration of Every Side of Country Music

Produced by Lambert alongside Jesse Frasure, the 12-track project embraces every side of the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter. From dusty dance halls and neon-lit honky-tonks to quiet moments of reflection around the kitchen table, Crisco celebrates the beautifully messy, ever-evolving world of country music.

“I’ve always loved every corner of country music,” Lambert shared. “The heartbreak songs, the honky-tonk songs, the songs that make you think and the songs that make you dance. Making this record reminded me that those things don’t have to be separated. We followed the songs wherever they wanted to go, trusted our instincts and ended up with something that feels really fun and really honest to who I am.”

New Songs Promise Heart, Humor, and Honky-Tonk Spirit

That fearless approach is woven throughout the album.

Fans have already gotten a taste of the project through the infectious title track, “Crisco,” which tips its hat to country’s long-standing love affair with the dance floor. Elsewhere, tracks like “Whiskey Business,” “Cowgirl Curtsy,” “Cuttin’ Onions,” and “Two Things Can Be True” promise Lambert’s trademark mix of razor-sharp wit, emotional honesty, and hard-earned wisdom.

The excitement doesn’t stop there. Lambert will release another preview of the album on Friday (June 26) with “Till The Going’s Gone,” a song that captures the restless spirit and freedom that’s been a defining thread throughout her career. Other new tracks, including “To Everything,” “Sunset Marquis,” and “Right Where We Left It,” explore everything from embracing uncertainty and chasing adventure to nostalgia, second chances, and finding hope in unexpected places.

Chris Stapleton Collaboration Highlights the Album

True to form, Lambert also balances fresh ideas with heartfelt nods to country music’s rich traditions.

The album features “A Song To Sing,” a highly anticipated duet with fellow powerhouse Chris Stapleton, while Lambert also puts her own spin on Jim Croce’s timeless classic, “I’ll Have To Say I Love You In A Song.” Add in the bold, western swagger of “Snakeskin Boots,” and Crisco quickly shapes up to be a record that honors the past while confidently looking toward the future.

Built on Great Songwriting

Lambert once again leaned on a trusted circle of collaborators while bringing the album to life, writing alongside longtime songwriting partners including Natalie Hemby, Ashley Monroe, Waylon Payne, Aaron Raitiere, Josh Osborne, and others. Together, they crafted a collection rooted in the storytelling tradition that has defined Lambert’s career from the very beginning.

Rather than trying to redefine what country music should be, Crisco celebrates everything it already is, a genre big enough for heartbreak and humor, rhinestones and reflection, dance floors and desert highways.

With another chapter ready to unfold this fall, one thing remains clear: Miranda Lambert isn’t following trends. She’s following the songs, and that’s exactly where she’s always been at her best.

Crisco arrives October 2 via MCA. CDs and vinyl editions, including signed copies, are available for pre-order now through MCA and Miranda Lambert’s official website.
