Miss Universe Jamaica had to be carried away on a stretcher after suddenly falling off the stage during the preliminary rounds of Miss Universe in Thailand.
Shocking footage shared on social media shows Dr. Gabrielle Henry walking across the stage in a stunning orange gown with high heels.
After posing at the front of the runway, she walks towards the left – but she takes a tumble after accidentally stepping off the edge.
Members of the audience immediately stood up to check on the model and several staff members intervened to help her.
Social media videos then showed Miss Jamaica being taken away on a stretcher as the public clapped in support.
The Miss Universe Jamaica organization said Dr. Henry, an ophthalmologist from Jamaica who was crowned Miss Universe Jamaica 2025 and is now competing for the main event, was rushed to Paolo Rangsit Hospital, a private medical facility in the Thanyaburi district of Thailand.
The organization added that Miss Jamaica didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries and tests are being carried out to ensure her recovery.
“Medical professionals are attending to her care and have advised that she is not suffering from any life-threatening injuries; however, they continue to conduct tests to ensure her full recovery,” it said in a statement.
The statement continued, “We kindly ask everyone to stay upbeat, lift her in prayer, and send positive thoughts as she receives the necessary medical care.”
Raul Rocha, owner of the Miss Universe pageant, also ensured fans that Dr. Henry is “under good care” and didn’t suffer any broken bones after falling from the runway.
He wrote on Instagram, “I was there with her family and her, and thankfully, there are no broken bones, and she is under good care.
“She will remain under observation for the rest of the night, and we will remain in touch with her family and support her. Our prayers go out for her prompt recovery.”
After videos of her fall were shared online, many people voiced their concerns with one writing on Instagram, “OMG!!! I hope shes fine.”
“Omg this is so hard to watch. That was a hard fall,” another posted, as a third wrote, “Praying she’s ok.”
