Mumford and Sons Tease ‘Prizefighter’ With New Single The Banjo Song

Mumford and Sons have shared a new single, The Banjo Song.

Co-written with Aaron Dessner of The National and Jon Bellion, the melodic folk-rock track serves up heartfelt lyricism and marks the latest preview of the Grammy-winning London band’s sixth album, ‘Prizefighter’, due out through Island Records on February 20.

It follows the previously unveiled singles Rubber Band Man featuring Hozier and the title track. The follow-up to last year’s ‘Rushmere’ also includes guest appearances from Gracie Abrams, Chris Stapleton and Gigi Perez.

Mumford and Sons will headline London’s BST Hyde Park concert series on July 4, with support from The War On Drugs and more acts to be announced, as part of a run of European summer dates.

Before that, they’ll top the bill at Out Of The Blue Festival in Cancun, Mexico, this weekend, and Innnings Festival in Tempe, Arizona, in February, following a run of UK in-store dates earlier that month. They’ll then tour Australia and New Zealand in April and May. Tickets are on sale now.
