The Furman University Department of Music will present “Die schöne Müllerin” Monday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Daniel Recital Hall on campus. The performance is free and open to the public.
German for “The Fair Maid of the Mill,” “Die schöne Müllerin” is one of the most iconic song cycles in classical music, composed by Franz Schubert in 1823. It’s based on 20 poems by Wilhelm Müller and is considered a cornerstone of the Lied (German art song) repertoire.
It features Will Jordan, tenor, Bennett Wright, tenor, Max Moorehead, baritone, Charlie Sanderson, baritone, and David Gross, piano.
