Andrea Gibson Poetry
The Loveland Poet Laureate Program will host an afternoon of poetry and music honoring the late Andrea Gibson, Colorado’s 10th poet laureate (2022-25), at 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in the Foote Gallery of the Loveland Museum, 503 N. Lincoln Ave.
The title of the reading, “Every Falling Leaf,” is a line from Gibson’s poem “How the Worst Day of My Life Became the Best.” The poets participating in the reading are encouraged to respond to this anchoring poem, any other poem by Gibson, or in tribute to Gibson’s life and art.
Gibson died earlier this year at the age of 49.
The free community event celebrates Gibson’s legacy and the ways their work continues to inspire courage, truth and compassion.
The reading will begin with an open microphone. Ten poets will have two minutes each to share something they have written. Sign up for the open mic starts at 12:45 p.m.
Nearly a dozen pre-selected featured readers from Northern Colorado will round out the afternoon: Sunny Bridge, Roger Clark, BJ Clark, Lynn Kincanon, Beth Lechleitner, Melissa Mitchell, Veronica Patterson, Emily Rodgers-Ramos, April Stutters, Mark Sanchez, Valerie Szarek and Celia Turner.
The event is free in keeping with the Loveland Poet Laureate’s mission to make poetry accessible to everyone. Donations are welcome, however, and help support this and future readings.

‘Focus Reframed’
“Focus Reframed: A Personal Return to Photography, Presence, and Place” opens Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Loveland Museum, 503 N. Lincoln Ave.
Local artist Jon Anderson’s new photography exhibit reflects a return to his roots — both in place and in practice. Growing up in Loveland and learning photography in the days of film and darkrooms, he has come full circle. After years of quick snapshots, his work documenting artifacts at the museum rekindled a slower, more intentional approach to image making. Taken over the past few years, each photo is a moment of rediscovery.
The exhibit will be on display through April 4 at 12 Feet of Wall Gallery.
