Calling all units. The carpet inside the W Hotel is on fire, or at least it was the night of Oct. 7.
A bright red carpet rolled through the lobby, lined with cowboy and fire hats, as stars of the latest “9-1-1” installment brought a little heat to Music City.
“We’ve been working our a–es off so hard, like 6 or 7 episodes at a time,” said LeAnn Rimes, dressed in a dark blue denim dress that highlighted her piercing blue eyes. Rimes plays “Dixie Bennings” who is a multi-layered character. “Our crew has been going for it. Everyone on the crew is so committed.”
Rimes recorded an original song for one of the episodes and the “How Do I Live” singer is working on new music. “Stay tuned,” she teased.
The camaraderie between the eight mainstays is clear as the actors hug each other arriving to talk to media outlets. Cameras flash. When actress Jessica Capshaw steps in for a group photo, the castmasts greet her with a hug. Her dress burns like the end of a glowing cast iron.
When asked who would be a wonderful cameo on the show, Capshaw references her friend and fellow entertainer who happens to have roots in Nashville.
“I was just talking about her. She’s top of mind, because of her new album release and I just want to say that I don’t think there’s anything Taylor Swift can’t do,” Capshaw said. “Taylor come on the show… it’ll be ridiculous how much fun we’ll have.”
Cameos for the episodes include Kane Brown and Danielle Breezy, chief meteorologist for WKRN.
In a trailer for the show, she echoes her real-life job of reporting non-stop during tornadic weather.
“I actually got a call from my manager who said, ‘What do you think about 9-1-1: Nashville? What do you think about it?” she said on the red carpet before enthusiastically responding, “I’m in.”

The promotional art include firenadoes, which is when a tornado encounters flames and rapidly sends intense fire hurling through the air. Breezy has never seen one in Nashville, but said they’re possible.
“It is meteorologically sound that’s why I was okay with doing it, but in our area we would not necessarily see that in Middle Tennessee,” she said.
Rashad Raisani is a writer and executive producer on the 9-1-1 franchise. He said he draws plot inspiration from social media and after six and a half years with the franchise, his feed is a gold mine of chaos.
“The algorithm has identified me to get the craziest stories — whether they’re from Tennessee, Florida, China or California — and my first thought is, ‘Can we use that crazy story?'” he said. “Almost everything we do on this show came from somewhere.”
Y’all need help: Stars weigh in on most ‘Nashville disasters’ for a ‘9-1-1’ episode
The third installment is the first out of Los Angeles shooting location. Both “9-1-1” and “9-1-1: Lone Star” were shot primarily in the Hollywood area. The newest creation in Ryan Murphy’s universe aims to highlight staples such as Broadway, the Grand Ole Opry and the Korean War veteran bridge were locals spotted an airstream trailer hanging high above the steel trusses.
“The idea to come somewhere and be in the heartland was very exciting,” Raisani said.
It’s been 13 years since Nashville last took center stage in a prime-time drama. The ABC drama arrives amid a boom for Nashville’s film sector, which has grown 43% in the past five years. “9-1-1: Nashville” alone is projected to create 600 jobs and generate $50 million in local impact.
And the actual fire department, which has been along for the ride consulting on shoots, couldn’t be happier with the exposure.
“Everyone wants to come to Nashville. I think we’re in the top 10 places to come and visit,” said Nashville Fire Department Chief William Swann. “We make sure for the people who come to Nashville to be safe and for the recognition of the series coming is an honor.”
