The list also included the Tom Hanks-starring AIDS drama Philadelphia, Peter Weir’s The Truman Show, Richard Linklater’s 1995 romantic trilogy starter Before Sunrise, the Salma Hayek-starring biopic Frida and John Carpenter’s 1982 cult sci-i horror film The Thing which the library said received the most nomination votes by the public.
