Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2026 nominees revealed
Among the 17 nominees for the 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 10 music legends are appearing on the ballot for the first time.
Bedrock and Rock Entertainment Group plan to build a 6,200-seat outdoor amphitheater along the Cuyahoga River as part of their redevelopment of The Riverfront in downtown Cleveland.
The venue will be operated under an agreement with Live Nation and is expected to host concerts, festivals and other events. It will be located adjacent to the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center, the practice facility for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Nic Barlage, CEO of Rock Entertainment Group, said the amphitheater is intended to serve as a community gathering space and support economic activity in downtown Cleveland.
“This outdoor amphitheater on the Cuyahoga River will be a dynamic community gathering place and a strategic investment in Downtown Cleveland’s growing experience-driven economy,” Barlage said in a news release. “In partnership with global powerhouse Live Nation, we will deliver a new premier venue that draws visitors, vitality and economic development to the urban core and continues our transformation of the riverfront into an active, energized destination.”
Live Nation Ohio Market President Michael Belkin said the venue will provide an additional option for touring acts and local performances.
Developers project the amphitheater will attract thousands of visitors annually and generate nearly $59 million in economic impact. It would be the first new large music venue built in Cleveland in more than 20 years, according to the companies.
Bedrock has selected DLR Group as lead architect, with support from Blueprint Studio, Live Nation’s in-house design and development group.
The amphitheater is part of The Riverfront, a 35-acre redevelopment plan along the Cuyahoga River and near Tower City. Bedrock said infrastructure and site work are underway, and the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center is fully enclosed and scheduled to open next year.
The project is part of a broader redevelopment effort that includes residential units, a publicly accessible riverwalk and other amenities. The Riverfront is also a component of Mayor Justin Bibb’s Shore-to-Core-to-Shore development plan, which aims to connect downtown Cleveland to the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie.
