India is getting a new music conference. Music services firm Gatsvy Media and Mumbai-based live venue Dome at the SVP Stadium are teaming up to stage The Bharat Music Experience. The first edition of “the integrated music industry platform” is scheduled to take place at the Dome from 07 to 09 October.
Conceptualised as a “confluence of creativity, commerce and culture”, it seeks to bring together “the entire spectrum of the music ecosystem under one roof, from legendary maestros and emerging artists to producers, labels, retailers, and cutting-edge music technology innovators”.
Alongside masterclasses and workshops, the event will include live performances, an awards night “honouring excellence, innovation, and impact”, and an expo showcasing leading brands across musical instruments, music production, audio technology and digital platforms.
The Bharat Music Experience follows the Mumbai-based All About Music conference, the milestone tenth edition of which is slated for this August, and the government-organised Waves or World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit, which was also held in India’s entertainment capital, in May 2025 and where music formed a small but significant part of the proceedings.
While the awards element is unique to The Bharat Music Experience, the list of speakers and participants, which are likely to be announced closer to the event, will tell us how different it will be from its predecessors. That said, for India’s sprawling and often siloed music industry, any initiative that gathers stakeholders with an aim “to accelerate growth, spark innovation, and amplify India’s musical voice on a global stage” is a welcome addition.
