Joe recommends: The dual-single “In The Hands Of You” showcases an impressive debut from Bristol unit Avicide. It meticulously weaves an array of genres, including potent moments of drawn-back metallic cleans, and the blackened riffs that burst out of its belly of the track. This opening offers a haunting sense of unease akin to that of Heriot.

Shane recommends: Before I Turn continue their follow-up to Claustrophobic with another somber outing of progcore in “Wilting“. As aggressive, down-tuned verses and emotional choruses trade blows on the backdrop of darkened ambience, the Connecticut outfit is primed to showcase the rest of this tragic tale with sonic indignation in the coming weeks.

Joe recommends: With their summer in full swing, we are seeing Australia hardcore begin to drop some quality releases. The likes of KRISTOL PISSTOL and Out of Spite delivered some cracking records at the end tail of last year. Now Stressed add two blistering tracks, “Oceans of Despair” and “Control to Decay“. With swinging riffs and vocals worthy of a mic grab, Stressed have delivered up some good ol’ fashioned hardcore to two-step and spin kick your friends to.

Dobbin recommends: Just as we announce Wildernesses as one of our ones-to-watch for 2026, we’re proven right immediately. They announced their debut LP Growth, and dropped “Maintenance“, a lovely showcase of their dreamy shoegaze style. Balmy low-register vocals and luscious guitar swells and plucks populate this track’s wintry landscape. The video demonstrates that this isn’t just music for swaying, as the band really get into the groove for the energetic ending.
