1. Atta Boy Gets Experimental With 4th Album, Silt

L.A. indie rock quartet Atta Boy—Eden Brolin, Lewis Pullman, Freddy Reish and Dashel Thompson—have been making music together for 15 years, but they’ve never been more unified and more keyed into their artistry than with their new album, Silt. Recorded in L.A. and then tinkered on for months across time zones, it’s a unique showcase of the power of giving songs room to breathe and the kind of collaboration that can only happy between artists who really trust each other. Its title refers to the cycles of murkiness and clarity that can come to us in life, like silt kicked up from the bottom of a river, resulting in songs that are as cathartic as they are expressive.

“One of the things we’ve kind of come back to over and over again with the silt imagery is this image of swimming underwater on a river or a lake,” the band’s Dashel Thompson shared in an interview with Sweety High. “As you swim along the body of water, the silt at the bottom gets kicked up and your vision’s obscured, and now you can’t really see, but you keep going, and as it settles down and clears out, you can see again. There’s this cycle of that can happen that’s part of a much bigger cycle, and that’s a lovely metaphor for life, and the ways in which you go through periods of where things are uncertain and the only way through is forward. That felt like a really nice summation of a lot of the stuff that we put into the record, but were also dealing with in our own lives during the course of the last two years in the making of the album.”

2. AtHeart Put a New Twist on a ’90s Classic With ‘Say It’

Rapidly rising K-pop girl group AtHeart are experts at capturing our attention, and they’ve done it yet again with their new single, “Say It.” The new song interpolates The Cardigans’ 1996 classic “Lovefool,” resulting in something bubbly, upbeat and vibrant, yet relatably lovelorn, from the seven-member group. The lyrics have the girls demanding to know precisely how their love feels, asking him to deliver the proclamation of love they’ve been dying to hear.

3. Khamari Gives Into Yearning in ‘To Want Someone Badly’

L.A. artist Khamari is one of our favorites in the alt-R&B space, and after the release of his sophomore album, To Dry a Tear, last year, he just released his first new music of 2026. The new track is called “To Want Someone Badly,” highlighting the star’s silky-smooth vocals against a rich soundscape, blending classic R&B grooves with edgy stings to tell a story of yearning and devotion.

4. MR. FANTASY Creates His Own Dream World With Debut Album, FANTASYLAND

Viral sensation and musical artist MR. FANTASY has taken over our social feeds and playlists since his 2025 debut, and we’re as enchanted with his work as ever with the release of debut album, FANTASYLAND. In typical MR. FANTASY style, its 11 tracks are driven by playful storytelling and an instantly recognizable signature sound that’s funky, fun and free. It really feels like he’s created his own sonic world and invited us all to play in it.

“Welcome to FANTASYLAND, baby!” the artist shred in a press release. “I have poured my entire soul into this record. Making music has been my lifelong passion, and these songs are my beating heart. They’re the reason I exist, and today I get to share that piece of myself with you … I hope FANTASYLAND brings you exactly what you need, whether that’s joy, comfort, confidence, love or simply a reason to dance. So gather your favorite people, grab a speaker, and let us all groove together! Love you all!”

5. Cailin Russo Is Totally Unapologetic With ‘X On My Chest’

Grammy-nominated artist Cailin Russo is no stranger to the spotlight, and with her new single “X On My Chest,” she doesn’t care who’s out to get her. With warbly synths and a driving beat, the track sees Cailin completely embracing who she is, refusing to apologize for her truth. She knows that her fame and success make her a target for ridicule and disdain, and she couldn’t care less.

“I started this song with one of my best friends @agnesazria in her apartment,” Cailin wrote in a post on Instagram. “I was so attracted to the synth sound and immediately asked her to loop it and add the most minimal nasty drums. The phrase ‘X on my chest’ fell out of my mouth immediately almost like a mantra. Representing X like a target, X like a magnet. X marks the spot.”

6. Haiden Henderson Gets Experimental With ‘NSFW’

As longtime followers of singer-songwriter Haiden Henderson, we can’t say we were expecting something like his new single “NSFW” from the artist. The new track jumps between edgy rock verses, soaring pop falsettos and punk-rap aggression, constantly keeping listeners on their toes as Haiden flexes the versatility of his vocals and artistry. Lyrically, it’s a sizzling track about watching his breadwinner lady go off to work, and giving her all the love he can in return.

“This is unlike anything I’ve heard before,” Haiden said in a press release. “Each section shows off a new part of what I do as a writer and singer. From gravelly whispers to airy falsetto to Rage Against the Machine-style punk, this record definitely lives up to its title.”

7. Landon Barker Makes a Comeback at a New Label With ‘If I Ever Talk to God’

It’s been a minute since singer-songwriter and social media sensation Landon Barker released new music, but the drought his finally over. His new single “If I Ever Talk To to God” is both his first music release in two years and his debut with Big Loud Rock. It’s a breezy alt-pop about yearning for someone you lost, and it feels like a big step in Landon’s musical evolution.

“I haven’t released music in a couple of years, and during that time, I went through a lot creatively and personally,” Landon shared in a press release. “This song feels like the right way to come back. Seeing how people have already connected with it online has made me even more excited to finally put it out.”

8. beabadoobee Must Move On in ‘Sun Has Set’

We couldn’t be more thrilled about beabadoobee‘s latest album announcement. Pylon is set to release on Sep. 18, and she just graced us with its bold and angsty first single, “Sun Has Set.” It’s an in-your-face rock track powered by distorted guitars and ’90s grunge edge as she calls out the insecurities that ruined a relationship. She holds nothing back, announcing her readiness to leave this person in the past and get on with her life.

“A lot of the songs on this record are things I wish I could have said to someone,” Bea explained in a pres release  “This song has this petty tunnel vision—it’s like, I hate you. You’re gonna stay here and listen to how much I hate you. Because I never got to say that.”

9. ATEEZ Keep the Momentum Going With GOLDEN HOUR: Part. 5 Mini-Album

ATEEZ are one of the biggest K-pop acts in the world, and with every new release, they remind us precisely why they’re on top. The octet just dropped their newest mini-album,  GOLDEN HOUR: Part.5, consisting of five tracks showcasing their unbridled confidence and genre-bending approaching, with an emphasis on show-stopping performances. It’s an eclectic project, bouncing between hip-hop and dance sounds, alt-pop fun and even Latin influences, while always carrying that undeniable ATEEZ signature. The group is also hitting the festival circuit this year, and we think these tracks will be especially unforgettable in that environment.

10. Sam Smith Celebrates True Love With ‘My Guy’

Singer-songwriter Sam Smith just announced that their fifth album, Hazel Eyes, is set to release on Aug. 21, set to feature the stunning new single “My Guy.” It’s a warm indie-pop track with a retro soul touch as it conveys the closest kind of love, and the confidence and safety that come from loving fully and knowing that you’re equally loved in return.

”This is a song that I feel I have been waiting a lifetime to write and sing,” Sam shared in a press release. “Written with beautiful friends on a summer’s day in New York, this one fell out of the sky. In this sometimes cold and distant world, I hope you can feel the love and the closeness of this recording. I tried to capture the glow and the warmth of love in this one, it makes me cry, maybe it will make you feel a little love too.”
