We’ve just unleashed our latest music video for our song, “A Tiger Among Dragons”, which features some of the most ambitious visuals we’ve ever created. Watch it now!
Inspired by the legendary Chinese warrior Lü Bu – who was known as the “Flying General” – the video fuses ancient mythology with sweeping cinematic visuals that perfectly capture the spirit of the song.
Joakim comments: “Our song “A Tiger Among Dragons” has a powerful, raw energy to it, but with a more melodic edge. I like to think that it tells Lü Bu’s story with intensity and emotion – it’s epic, but there’s also a sense of drama and depth that really brings the legend to life!”
Par adds: “Lü Bu was the kind of warrior who felt more like a myth than a man, and when we saw how he was projected in comics, games and such, we felt that he was deserving of an anthem. We couldn’t resist turning his legend into a song, so “A Tiger Among Dragons” was born!”
Lü Bu rose to fame during the late Han Dynasty. He was known for his unmatched strength, his skill with his halberd Sky Piercer, and his lightning-fast horse Red Hare. His brutal duels, betrayals and larger-than-life presence made him the perfect muse for a song about power, honour and chaos on the battlefield.
To capture that spirit, we went all-in on production. We worked with expert costume designers to craft armour inspired by ancient Chinese lore – custom-fitted so we could still play our instruments mid-battle. Filmed in Belgrade, Serbia, mostly against a green screen, the video layers in CGI and special effects to create a world where Sabaton stands alongside an ancient army.
The concept? Joakim leads the charge, backed by the band and two sorceresses who summon flaming guitars from thin air – and, by the end, they gain a fiery ally.

SECURE YOUR LÜ BU EDITION OF LEGENDS ON VINYL!
In celebration of our new “Legends” album, we decided it would be cool to release 11 unique vinyl editions, each of which portrays a legendary figure featured on the album. Of course, we had to create a special Lü Bu Edition in connection with “A Tiger Among Dragons”, and it’s pressed on bloodshot vinyl. If you want to get your hands on one, you better be quick!
