A new picture of King Charles has been released today to mark his 77th birthday. The previously unseen photograph was taken by royal photographer Millie Pilkington on the King’s Sandringham Estate.
Charles stands in the grounds of the estate, in front of the impressive royal residence, wearing a beige rain jacket and trousers and a blue shirt. He is gently leaning on a traditional countryside walking stick, held in his left hand.
Sharing the new image onto the Royal Family’s official social media accounts, Buckingham Palace wrote: “77 today! Thank you for the kind words and well wishes on His Majesty’s Birthday.”
The workaholic King doesn’t like to put his feet up on his special day, but as he’s done in previous years, has chosen to undertake official duties.
Charles and Camilla have travelled to South Wales today for a series of engagements. During the visit, they will meet members of the local community at Cyfarthfa Castle, highlighting and celebrating the region’s rich heritage, vibrant arts, and culture.
