Malaysians now have a dedicated reference platform to combat ticket touts and concert scams following the launch of the belitiketselamat.my portal.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the portal, introduced under the Beli Tiket Selamat (BTS) campaign, allows local fans to check the authenticity of the tickets before making any transactions.
On the site, fans can also report suspicious concert listings to protect others from falling for the scam.
He added that BTS doesn’t replace the role of the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC), the Commercial Crime Investigation Department of the Royal Malaysian Police (CCID), or the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living.
Fahmi explained that the portal strengthens enforcement efforts by providing actionable intelligence to support faster interventions.
According to Malay Mail, all future event tickets in Malaysia will soon feature a BTS advisory reminding buyers to use only verified platforms and to spot the red flags of scams before acting on any listing found on social media or messaging apps.
Additionally, there’ll be help desks at event venues so fraud victims can get assistance in filing NSRC reports within 15 minutes.
The launch of the portal is timely with the KL Headline Season 2026, which is expected to attract thousands of concertgoers to the capital to watch various international-class concerts.
