Royal Mail has announced a new collection of stamps to mark what would have been the 100th birthday of the late Queen.
The set of eight stamps will commemorate the life and work of Elizabeth II and features photographs from various moments and themes throughout her life.
In the set of eight stamps, to be released on 21st April, we can see a young Princess Elizabeth aged six, a snap that was taken in July 1932 by Marcus Adams.
Meanwhile the most recent pictures used is from a visit to the G7 Summit in 2021 alongside members of the Royal Family, as well as a photograph taken to mark her Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Completing the set are photos from Trooping the Colour during the 1970s, her historic Coronation in 1953, a visit to India in 1961, and her first radio broadcast in 1940 aged just 14.
The commemorative set briefly revives the 70-year tradition of the Queen’s face on stamps, to send letters across the UK. Her image appeared on regular postage stamps as well as on stamps marking key royal events and milestones throughout her historic reign.
To complement the set, a further miniature sheet has been produced to reflect her lifelong love of horses and dogs. Images include those taken at Balmoral and Sandringham.
