If you are looking for the ultimate weekend escape, pack your bags. A beloved summer tradition is returning to the Hudson Valley this Sunday, June 21.
The Hudson River Music Festival is officially taking over Croton Point Park for Father’s Day. Even better? It is located just one hour outside of NYC.
Rooted in the spirit of Pete and Toshi Seeger’s iconic folk picnics, this all-ages festival brings together incredible live music, environmental activism, and gorgeous waterfront views.
Massive headliners and exclusive collaborations
The music lineup this year is absolutely stacked. Over on the Hudson Stage, you can catch four-time Grammy nominee Jesse Welles. The viral Arkansas troubadour is bringing his raw, socially conscious acoustic songs to the waterfront.
But that is not all. For the first time ever, a legendary super-group set is hitting the stage. Guitarist Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band) is joining forces with Grahame Lesh and Daniel Donato. Donato is known for his electrifying “Cosmic Country” sound that is completely redefining the roots genre.

You can also catch multi-talented musician Toshi Reagon, Tom Chapin & The Chapin Sisters, and the Guthrie Family Singers.
Introducing the new Rainbow Stage
This year features the brand-new Rainbow Stage, dedicated to celebrating musical heritage and community.
Legendary composer David Amram will perform, alongside rising Mexican music star Damaris Bojor, who is pioneering an innovative new genre called “Folkpirano.” You will also get to hear the unique African-American string band traditions of The Ebony Hillbillies and activist singer-songwriter Leah Song from Rising Appalachia.
Endless family fun and giant puppets
Because the festival lands right on Father’s Day, there is a massive lineup of interactive programming for all ages.
Head over to the new North Star Stage for family-friendly activities. Kids can rock out with The Rock and Roll Playhouse, participate in yoga sessions, or get creative in the arts and crafts area.
Keep your eyes peeled for roaming performances, including a whimsical Fish Migration puppet show featuring designs from the iconic Jim Henson Studios. There will also be stilt-walkers, magic, and juggling popping up throughout the day.

Shorter lines and a zero-waste future
The festival is deeply committed to sustainability and a Zero Waste future. Attendees are encouraged to reduce their environmental impact while enjoying a greener experience.
You won’t go hungry either. The festival’s food court has doubled in size this year. That means way more regional food choices and much shorter wait times.
If you want to upgrade your experience, VIP tickets are available. They offer perks like premium elevated seating, air-conditioned luxury restrooms, a dedicated express entry line, and guaranteed close parking.
