Meghan Markle has returned to her royal roots after name checking her historic wedding to Prince Harry in an attempt to sell scented candles.
The Duchess of Sussex recently added candles to her As Ever repertoire, which are available for purchase via her website.
Markle, 44, is currently selling a grand total of two candles, including the “Signature Candle No. 519” featuring notes of Moroccan mint, cardamon and tea leaves.
“Bright and refreshing, with quietly grounding notes of Moroccan mint leaf, white tea leaves, and a back note of woodsy cardamom, No. 519 fills the room with a soothing, welcoming fragrance that remains our founder’s tried and true favorite,” the description said.
“Housed in a beautiful ceramic vessel, this candle is hand-poured in California. A refreshing scent to rise with, like a cup of mint tea, and to relax with, like the warm company of the ones you love, No. 519 evokes the freshness of a day in the English countryside, a long walk in the garden, and a spirit of happiness that is hard to resist.”
In a move almost certain to rankle Buckingham Palace, the Duchess of Sussex is marketing the candle as directly inspired by her royal wedding to Prince Harry.
“This signature candle is inspired by the ease and joy of a day that holds Meghan’s most cherished memories—her wedding day, May 19th,” the description read.
Markle became Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle upon her marriage to Prince Harry.
While the royal family paid for the actual ceremony, British taxpayers funded the security costs, which cost at least several million pounds.
Markle’s decision to tie in her royal wedding with her product line comes after reports Prince William is privately considering stripping the Sussexes of their remaining titles.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex technically retain HRH titles but agreed not to use the prestigious style in their commercial ventures since leaving the royal family.
Nevertheless, Markle recently signed a gift card linked to her As Ever brand with the title “HRH The Duchess of Sussex”, reportedly infuriating the Prince of Wales.
The prospect of William possibly stripping the Sussex Dukedom appears far more likely after Prince Andrew lost both the York Dukedom and his Prince title.
According to respected royal insider Tom Sykes, William is planning a major blitz in which he will strip a series of outer royals of their titles when he becomes monarch.
