While promoting her new film, Office Romance, Jennifer Lopez made it clear that she no longer defines herself through romantic relationships. In an October 2024 interview, J.Lo said being in a relationship does not determine her happiness and stressed that she is capable of finding joy on her own. More recently, she doubled down on that message during a series of promotional appearances.
Speaking publicly about her life after divorce, Lopez joked that she should have embraced being single sooner. At the New York City premiere of Office Romance, the 56-year-old also described this stage of her life as her “happy era.”
According to the source, many people within Lopez’s inner circle believe she is still struggling to fully move on from Affleck following their 2024 split. The insider alleges that while she continues to present herself as content and independent, privately she has not completely closed the door on the relationship. An insider told Globe, “To be clear, nobody in J.Lo’s world is buying this talk that she’s happy to be single and totally over Ben.”
According to a source previously quoted by Globe, Lopez believes that a “third time will be the charm” if he is willing to take a chance on their relationship. “She’s been on this mission to show him what he’s missing,” the insider claimed.
Further, according to the source, Affleck has largely remained silent about the breakup and has chosen not to publicly revisit details of the relationship. The individual added that a reunion between JLo and Affleck is not going to happen. According to the source, Lopez needs to accept that the relationship is over and move on.
