With questions raised about Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s futures following the latest tranche of Epstein files, one surprising Royal is expected to support Prince William should he decide to take action against the sisters once he becomes King.
Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, shares a close bond with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s daughters, but is also incredibly close to Prince William, being just 13 months apart in age and growing up together.
The Olympic equestrian, 44, would face a tough dilemma if she had to choose between her cousins, but reports suggest she and husband Mike Tindall would “naturally” align with William.
“There is sympathy for (Beatrice and Eugenie); the King is currently supportive, but their parents are in total disgrace,” royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said.
“Zara and Mike have cultivated a casual, low-key image, and one can imagine them doing what they want and befriending whom they feel like.
“However, they are both heavily reliant on the potency of their brands.”
With no royal title, the Tindalls earn a living through brand endorsements, including partnerships with the likes of Rolex, Land Rover, and Magic Millions.
Therefore, Fitzwilliams suggests that distancing themselves from Beatrice and Eugenie will be inevitable if more is revealed about their links to Jeffrey Epstein.
“Their public appearances with the sisters may, depending on what is released, alter or even cease if it is discovered they were unwise or even culpable,” the commentator added to the Daily Mail.
“If it came to choosing, Zara and Mike would naturally support William and Catherine if William should feel the need to oust Beatrice and Eugenie.
“They are independent enough to do as they wish, but nobody should doubt that their loyalty, like that of Zara’s indomitable mother, Princess Anne, is first and foremost to the monarchy at all times.”
It comes after the latest batch of Epstein files revealed that Beatrice and Eugenie visited Epstein a few days after he was released from prison in 2009.
The York sisters, along with their mother, Sarah Ferguson, allegedly visited the convicted sex offender’s Florida home while he was under house arrest.
The sisters would have been aged 20 and 19 at the time.
It has also been claimed that Beatrice encouraged Andrew to go through with his disastrous Newsnight interview in 2019.
BBC producer Sam McAlister claimed the Princess attended a negotiation meeting with her father, where she was “evidently anxious” and “clearly there to protect his interests”.
Neither Beatrice nor Eugenie have been accused of wrongdoing.
