It was a big night for Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another,” taking home six Oscars, including best picture, best director and adapted screenplay at the 98th Academy Awards. The film also won for Sean Penn for supporting actor, film editing and casting, the first time the category was presented.

“Sinners,” which earned a record 16 nominations, won four awards, including Michael B. Jordan for actor in a leading role, Ryan Coogler’s original screenplay, his first, cinematography score and cinematography, with Autumn Durald Arkapaw making history as the first woman to win an Oscar in the category.

Jessie Buckley was another first-time winner, taking the Oscar for actress in a leading role for “Hamnet.” Amy Madigan won for supporting actress for “Weapons.”

The Korean musical fantasy “KPop Demon Hunters” won two Academy Awards, for animated feature and original song. “Frankenstein” won three awards, for production design, costume design and makeup and hairstyling.
