Ozzy Osbourne’s youngest son is hitting back after Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters criticized his late father.
In a recent interview with The Independent Ink, Waters, 81, seemed to express a distaste for the music of Osbourne’s most well-known group, Black Sabbath. Both Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath crested in popularity in the 1970s, capturing die-hard fans amid the growing popularity of rock.
“Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him in his whatever state that he was in his whole life,” the famous British singer-songwriter said, “We’ll never know. The music, I have no idea.
“I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did. Have no interest in biting the heads of chickens or whatever they do. I couldn’t care less, you know,” he added. Osbourne, who died July 22 at 76 after a heart attack, famously bit the head off a bat during a solo performance.
Jack Osbourne, 39, the late rocker’s youngest son, was unimpressed with Waters’ comments, calling him “pathetic” and “out of touch” in an expletive-laden post on Instagram.
“Hey Roger Waters… How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become. The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out … in the press,” Osbourne wrote, adding that his father had “always” disliked Waters, and he was glad the Pink Floyd artist was “proving him right.”
Waters’ comments strike a notable contrast to the spirit of a chorus of musicians who vociferously mourned Osbourne following his death.
Elton John led the tributes, writing on Instagram that the late singer was a “dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods – a true legend.” The “Rocket Man” singer also said Osbourne was “one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.”

The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood also added condolences, writing that he was “so very sad to hear” the news. “What a lovely goodbye concert he had,” he said, referring to the farewell show that Osbourne held with Black Sabbath on July 5, just weeks before his death.
