NEED TO KNOW

  • A musical adaptation of The Lost Boys is coming to Broadway in spring 2026

  • PEOPLE has an exclusive debut of a new music video for ‘Wild,’ one of the songs penned for the musical by The Rescues

  • The song is song by actress Caissie Levy, who stars in the show, and Patrick Wilson, who is one of the musical’s producers

The Lost Boys are ready to take a bite out of Broadway, and PEOPLE has an exclusive first view at video for one of the musical’s newest songs.

Ahead of its world premiere next spring, Patrick Wilson — who is producing the stage adaptation of the 1987 fan-favorite vampire film — has teamed up with actress Caissie Levy, one of the show’s stars, in a new music video for “Wild.”

The track, one of the songs written for the musical the alt-pop trio The Rescues (Kyler England, AG and Gabriel Mann), is a soaring anthem that captures the thrilling mix of danger and desire that defined the original movie.

Levy’s powerful voice leads the track, with Wilson joining for harmonies that give the song a sweeping, emotional edge. The tune builds from quiet introspection to a powerful chorus, as Levy’s character expresses her dreams of recapturing the wild freedom of her youth and living without life’s inhibitions.

Preview performances for The Lost Boys: A New Musical begin March 27, 2026, at the Palace Theatre in New York City, with an official opening set for April 26.

It’s directed by two-time Tony Award winner Michael Arden (Parade), with a book by David Hornsby (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Chris Hoch.

Like the Warner Bros. Pictures film, the musical follows two teenage brothers who move with their divorced mother to the fictional California town of Santa Carla — only to discover it’s home to a dangerous group of vampires. The story blends horror, humor and heart as the brothers find themselves pulled into a battle between good and evil while navigating growing up, fitting in and surviving the night.

Levy, who is currently on the boards in Ragtime, will play matriarch Lucy Emerson in the show. The role was made famous on screen by Dianne Wiest.

Joining her will be LJ Benet, as Lucy’s eldest son, Michael Emerson (originated by Jason Patric). A brooding teenager who falls under the spell of the local vampire gang, Michael’s fate lies in the hands of his wisecracking younger brother Sam (Corey Haim on screen, Benjamin Pajak on stage) as he teams up with the town’s self-appointed vampire hunters, the Frog brothers (Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander in the film, Jennifer Duka and Miguel Gil in the musical) to rescue Michael.

Elsewhere in the cast, Ali Louis Bourzgui plays David, the magnetic and menacing leader of the vampires —a part first brought to life by Kiefer Sutherland — while Maria Wirries takes on Star, the mysterious young woman caught between the human and undead worlds (originally played by Jami Gertz). Paul Alexander Nolan portrays Max, the seemingly mild-mannered local who harbors a dark secret, with Brian Flores, Sean Grandillo and Dean Maupin rounding out David’s bloodthirsty crew.

The Lost Boys was a box-office hit upon its release and has maintained a loyal following over the years.

Directed by Joel Schumacher, the stylish supernatural thriller redefined the vampire genre for a younger audience with its mix of horror, humor and ’80s cool — complete with an unforgettable soundtrack that featured songs by INXS and Echo & the Bunnymen. The film went on to inspire two sequels and a comic-book series and remains a pop-culture touchstone that paved the way for projects like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, True Blood and Twilight.

Wilson is producing The Lost Boys alongside James Carpinello and Marcus Chait, in association with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures. Mark Kaufman and original film producer Lauren Shuler Donner serve as creative consultants.

Tickets to The Lost Boys: A New Musical are on sale now.
