Hamnet star Paul Mescal was spotted enjoying a pre-Bafta party in London’s Mayfair, which he left looking a little worse for wear.
Maynooth native Mescal, 30, left the venue wearing a striped tie, which might have taken him back to his breakout role as school pupil Connell Waldron on Element Pictures’ hit drama series Normal People. Mescal was joined at the party by actors Tilda Swinton, Mark Strong and Emilia Jones, daughter of classical singer Aled.
Emilia appears to be becoming something of a girl about town, leaving a pre-BAFTA bash in Mayfair with a huge grin on her face.

Paul is the favourite to win the best supporting actor award for his role as William Shakespeare in Chloe Zhao’s Hanmet. He will be amongst the world’s A-listers at the event at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
The event promises to be all about Timothee Chalamet, shortlisted for both best movie for Marty Supreme and best actor for his portrayal of a larger-than-life table tennis player.
