Meghan Markle is reportedly making a shock move in an attempt to “uphold the standards of the monarchy”.
The Duchess of Sussex has been the subject of immense public scrutiny since even before she was married to Prince Harry.
After stepping down as senior royals in 2020, Meghan and Harry relocated to the United States, and over the years were vocal about their grievances with the royal family.

Meghan’s comments involve concerns about racism and a lack of support, while Harry detailed his struggles in his 2023 memoir Spare.
The duchess has been offered multiple publishing deals in the wake of the success of Spare, and had previously indicated that she would pen a tell-all.
Now it seems she has changed her mind.
A source told The Mirror that Meghan has since chosen not to go ahead with her memoir.
“Meghan and Harry are cautious about everything they do and say to uphold the standards of the monarchy. Those (memoirs) are the types of projects they don’t want to do,” the source said.
A Meghan memoir could have been lucrative for the couple, who are now financially independent from the royal family.
Harry’s memoir sold more than 1.4 million copies in the US on its release day, making it the fastest-selling non-fiction book in recorded sales history. By the end of its first week of sales in the US, 3.2 million copies were sold. In Australian bookshops, it sold 64,000 copies in its first week.
The rift between Harry and his brother and heir to the throne Prince William appears to have only widened in the wake of his book release.
And the Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor scandal has only piled on to the royal family’s precarious position.
Meghan and Harry have remained largely removed from the ongoing situation, though insiders claim their ventures and trips, including their upcoming visit to Australia, have William fuming.
Many are critical of Meghan and accuse her of capitalising off her royal status, though others rally behind her with sympathy, especially over the media harassment she faced in the UK.
The exact date of the duke and duchess’ arrival in Australia is unknown, but Harry is scheduled to give a speech on workplace mental health at the InterEdge Summit in Melbourne on April 15.
Meghan is the headliner of an expensive Sydney retreat from April 17 – April 19.
The retreat, which promises to be “an unforgettable weekend for women ready to reconnect, recharge and have some serious fun”, is being put on by Her Best Life, a community group established to bring women together for real, raw and vulnerable conversations.
“Early bird” tickets were priced at $2699 per person, with “VIP experience” tickets going at $3,199 per person.
