Phoebe Bridgers has officially confirmed her third album is on the way, announcing Wednesday morning that Lost Weekend will finally arrive on Aug. 14.
On her Instagram, Bridgers said the first song from the album will release tomorrow. The album marks Bridgers’ first solo album in six years and follows her lauded 2020 record Punisher. Fans have been waiting for a new solo record ever since and have been highly anticipating new music since Bridgers announced an arena tour last month.
Bridgers started rolling out her new era with some surprise pop-up shows, playing first in New Mexico in May. The largest of those shows was a phones-free gig at Madison Square Garden she’d announced just a couple days prior.
While Bridgers hasn’t released a solo album since Punisher, she’s certainly been busy. She reached new career heights with supergroup Boygenius, winning three Grammys with their critically acclaimed the record. The album won best alternative music album, while its single “not strong enough” won for best rock song and best rock performance. Bridgers won a separate Grammy that same night for best pop duo/group performance for “Ghost in the Machine,” her collaboration with SZA.
Bridgers didn’t share any further details about Lost Weekend other than its release date.
Beyond her music, Bridgers will also make her feature length debut in the A24 film Primetime, starring Robert Pattinson, with the film expected sometime this year.
