Pierce Brosnan’s wife wants him to slow down amid health concerns
Pierce Brosnan’s wife Keely Shaye Smith has recently expressed her concerns over her husband’s demanding workload.
Despite his health issues, the Irish actor has been pushing very hard in his 70s as he hints at returning to James Bond franchise, in addition to other acting projects as well as his side hustle.
Last year, Pierce appeared in different acting projects including TV series MobLand and the movie The Thursday Murder Club .
Keely, who has always been supportive of her husband for last 24 years, now wants him to chill out and enjoy retirement with her.
An industry insider tells Radar Online, “They’ve spent significant time apart from each other throughout their marriage but she never made a fuss about it.”
However, now Keely “did think that at this stage in life, he’d be ready to dial it back and spend more time with her. He’s in his 70s now and just as fired up to work as ever,” says another source close to the couple.
Meanwhile, Pierce is busy reading scripts and even trying to get back to playing Bond, which will be an “extremely demanding role if he does get it”.
Although Keely is proud of her husband’s decades long career, she’s “also realistic,” noting, “there’s only so long he’s going to run at this pace before he risks burning out and she worries about that a lot,” according to an insider.
Therefore, Keely “wants him to chill out with her in Kauai and Malibu,” but instead, he’s just talking about his next acting project.
“It’s disappointing for her,” shares a confidante.
