Piers Morgan has criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as “Sussex worms” during a new podcast this week. The host of Piers Morgan Uncensored appeared on his spin-off show, The Royals Uncensored, on Thursday, discussing the King’s U.S. state visit.
Speaking with podcast hosts Jo Elvin and Katie Nicholl, and former royal butler Grant Harrold, Piers attacked Harry and Meghan, labeling them “worms”. He subsequently praised King Charles, who was in America from April 27 until April 30, conducting various engagements and working to strengthen the UK-US relationship.
He then said on The Royals Uncensored podcast: “It’s a reminder to the Sussex worms that this is what real royalty looks like.”
King Charles did not meet with Harry and Meghan during his US trip – the country his youngest son, Prince Harry, and Harry’s wife, Meghan, have resided in since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
This is believed to be due to the monarch’s packed schedule.
However, royal expert Katie Nicholl suggested on the same podcast that the actual reason is that Harry and the King’s relationship is at an “all-time low.”
She said, “I actually think the real reason [they did not meet] is because the King knows any conversation he has with Harry, there’s a very high chance it will be leaked.
I actually got on the phone and spoke with someone very close with the King, and they said that’s exactly it.”
Katie added, “The relationship actually between the King and his youngest son is at an all-time low at the moment because Harry isn’t going through the official channels when he wants to reach out to Charles.”
The monarch and Prince Harry‘s most recent in-person encounter took place in September at Clarence House.
