Known for Pat Monahan‘s soaring lead vocals, the pop-rock band Train is known for their blend of soulful lyrics, catchy hooks, and a down-to-earth folk rock style.
In 2001, “Drops of Jupiter,” the second studio album was released, catapulting the young group into instant stardom. The album turns 25 next year, and fans are ready to revisit some of the biggest hits that the band released with their just-announced 25 Years in the Atmosphere Tour.
Songs like “Meet Virginia” from their 1998 debut album and “Hey Soul Sister” from the 2009 album “Save me, San Francisco” combine narrative lyrics, acoustic guitar riffs, and catchy melodies that fans still love to sing along with.

The band is teaming up with another iconic band of the ’90s and early 2000s, Barenaked Ladies as well as Matt Nathanson for more than 38 stops across North America. With a kick-off date of July 8, 2026 and a wrap date of August 30th 2026, that is a lot of ground to cover in under 2 months.
Fans are showing their enthusiasm in the comments, with one saying, “Train’s back from the soul vacation with a tour,” and another noting that that the Train and Barenaked Ladies pairing is sure to make for a great show.
The irony isn’t lost on one fan, asking the band to add Virginia to the lineup. You know they need to “Meet Virginia.” Other fans are asking for additional dates in UK, Australia, and Canada.
The band has also announced their newest member, Butch Walker who joined the group on their latest tour, and has been a collaborator for many years. In another Instagram post, Train debuts a new group photo, which fans are reacting to.
“I knew it as soon as I saw @butchwalker perform with you guys this summer! The chemistry was EPIC! Welcome Butch!🔥” one commenter wrote. “The absolute best news I’ve heard in a long time. BW is one of a kind. I can’t wait to enjoy this concert next August. And with @mattnathanson 🔥 Take all my money.” was shared by another.
I think it’s safe to say that each show will be met with excited crowds and adoring fans at every stop next summer!
