Poppy has unveiled the official music video for “Dying To Forget,” the latest visual from her acclaimed seventh studio album, Empty Hands. Directed by longtime collaborator Orie McGuiness, the video arrives just ahead of the North American leg of the singer’s “Constantly Nowhere Tour,” which kicks off next month.
The new clip places Poppy and her band in a dark industrial setting, surrounded by an energetic crowd of real fans who were brought in as extras for the shoot. The performance-driven video also features appearances from Isaac Hale of Knocked Loose and Stephen Harrison of House of Protection, both of whom are credited as co-writers on the song.
“Dying To Forget” continues the sonic direction established on Empty Hands, an album that blends industrial textures, heavy riffs, and pop melodies while revisiting the surreal aesthetic that has become synonymous with Poppy’s artistic identity. The record has earned praise from critics, with Pitchfork describing it as “heavier, savvier, and quirkier than ever.”
Following successful runs through Australia and Europe, Poppy is set to bring the “Constantly Nowhere Tour” to North America beginning in July. The trek will feature support from French metalcore outfit Landmvrks and post-hardcore band Thousand Below, with stops scheduled across major cities including New York, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Atlanta before continuing internationally later this year.
