Ellen DeGeneres’ wife, Portia de Rossi, may be returning to the screen, according to a source.
A source tells the National Enquirer that despite chatter that the former talk show host, 67, wants to “revive her Hollywood career,” the Arrested Development alum, 52, is “the one to watch” regardless of “what she’s said publicly about returning to acting.”
The source reveals that while the public perception is that “Ellen was the one who coaxed Portia to put her acting career on hold,” that’s not the case.
De Rossi announced she was done with acting in 2018 during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, however she made several appearances on season 5 of Arrested Development in 2019.

“Portia is her own woman and makes her own decisions, and when the right acting opportunity comes along for her, she doesn’t need Ellen’s permission to say ‘yes,’” the source remarks.
In fact, the source says that “the makers of The White Lotus ” have the Ally McBeal alum on their cast “wish list” for the show’s upcoming season.
“She would fit into the universe of that show perfectly, and she already has loads of ensemble TV acting experience from her run on Arrested Development,” notes the source.
While the former talk show host would likely not “be happy about Portia going off for five months,” the source points out that she could bring DeGeneres along for filming “for what amounts to a free vacation” at the luxury resort they use.
