Learning she was going to be on Dancing With the Stars season 34 just hours before the cast reveal, it’s safe to say that fans did not expect Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui to be a frontrunner in the competition.
After her powerful premiere night performance — earning her an impressive score of 13 out of 20 — she and her professional dance partner, Brandon Armstrong, might have already punched their ticket to finale night.

For those who are unfamiliar, Jauregui is a “multiplatinum Cuban-American singer-songwriter” who started her career as “as one-fifth of the award-winning, arena-filling and chart-dominating Fifth Harmony” (according to her official DWTS biography).
Said biography continues, “Projecting her voice across popular culture, she has collaborated with everyone from Halsey and Steve Aoki to Ty Dolla $ign. She dropped her first solo single, ‘Expectations,’ during 2018, generating over 100 million streams, and contributed ‘Invisible Chains’ to Birds of Prey: The Album… Her first solo album is currently in the works for 2026 and expected to be one of the most unforgettable releases of the year.”
With her music career aside, “Jauregui is an activist for social justice initiatives and environmental awareness, including human rights, women’s and LGBTQ+ rights, and care for our planet.” How iconic is that?
Nevertheless, it is safe to say she has some stellar dancing skills as well, earning a seven from Derek Hough and a six from Bruno Tonioli for her DWTS debut: a Tango to Ariana Grande’s “Yes, And?”

After their show-stopping performance, the official DWTS Instagram account shared a series of photos of Jauregui and Armstrong tearing up the ballroom floor, captioning the post, “YES they did that, AND it was serving baddie! Comment ⭐️ if you were singing along during Lauren & Brandon’s Tango. #DWTS“
Naturally, fans were stunned by just how well Jauregui did during her DWTS debut, taking to the comment section of the post:
“THAT WAS AMAZING!!! Unexpected but so good 😍”
“She moved with such femininity. I fear she’s my favorite so far”
“Ok she is really good! I think she will carry on the Fifth Harmony DWTS legacy”
Also in the comment section, others went so far as to say the pair is finals-bound:
“INCREDIBLE!! Brandon is coming back with a vengeance and Lauren is gonna help him get a long overdue win”
“BRANDON HIVE WE’RE GOING TO THE FINALS AGAIN!!!!!! 🏆”
“We’re getting Brandon to the finals again 🔥🔥🔥”
Topping things off, Armstrong’s partner from DWTS season 33, Chandler Kinney, commented, “YES THEY DID👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽,” and his wife, Brylee Armstrong, commented, “Proud of them holy.” How sweet is that?
Will Jauregui and Armstrong actually manage to take home the coveted Mirrorball Trophy, though? To find out for yourself, tune into brand new episodes of DWTS season 34 Tuesdays via ABC or Disney Plus.
