Pramod Cheruvalath has moved on from his role as content head – South at Applause Entertainment after four years.
He announced the development in a LinkedIn post, stating: “Work update! After four memorable years, I have moved on from my role as content head at Applause Entertainment – South.
My tenure at Applause was filled with exciting, audience-first, commercially successful content, including Por Thozhil, Bison Kaalamadan, and the Tamil series – Game, which was No. 1 on Netflix. My parting project, a Tamil film, is getting ready for release later this year.
As I transition to independent mode, I want to express my gratitude to all my colleagues at Applause for their support.
A special thanks to, one of India’s, M&E, legends – Mr. Sameer Nair for the opportunity given to lead Applause Entertainment – South.
I also want to thank Mr. Prasoon Garg, Mr. Deepak Sehgal and Mr. Devendra Bhandari for their constant help and support, during my tenure.
Applause Entertainment is now a powerful creative content/IP studio, and I am proud to have played a part in leading their South operations and contributing to the brand’s USP of Audacious, Disruptive, Applause worthy content.
Moving forward, I will continue to pursue my obsessive passion for the film/content industry I love and all things creative.
Content creation – films, series, LRS, SRS, and micro dramas – will continue to remain central to my life forever.
Moving on, I look forward to consulting opportunities across creative, production, and business with production houses, producers, studios, and platforms focused on South content, alongside making content independently.
My strengths are down South, and I come with vast connections/network, thorough knowledge of film craft, creative leadership, production, and business acumen to create your next success story across the four South markets.

During his tenure, Cheruvalath worked on projects including Por Thozhil, Bison Kaalamadan and the Tamil series Game.
He is now set to work independently, focusing on content creation and consulting across production, creative, and business functions in the South market.
