Fans are sending all their love to Steve Martin after the Only Murders in the Building star shared an unfortunate new health update in his latest social media post.
The 80-year-old shared a snapshot of a dual COVID-19 and flu test resting in his hand, showing a negative result for both influenza A and B, but a positive line for COVID-19.
“Hey! No flu!” he made light of the diagnosis in the caption, leading some fans to attempt to keep the mood light.
“Your [sic] pregnant? Congratulations!” one quipped.
“PLEASE don’t tell me that Martin [Short] is the father. 🙏,” another joked.
Most, However, Wished Him Well Following His Latest Infection
“SNL anniversary COVID now Emmys COVID? Boo,” one fan vented, while someone else exclaimed, “noooooooooooooooooooo.”
“Bummer, I hope it’s a light case and you feel better soon,” another emphasized.
“Feel better!” Rita Wilson and Brad Garrett both wrote, while someone else said, “Get well soon ❤️.”
“Oh so sorry,” another lamented. “Hope you feel better soon.”
“Prayers for a quick recovery,” somebody else replied.
“I hope you feel better soon. And grateful you didn’t lose your sense of humor!” another applauded.
Many Also Sent Their Best Recommendations for a Quick Recovery
Josh Gad, who recently had to step back from the Hollywood Bowl’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar when he tested positive for the virus, sent a single word of advice: “Paxlovid!!”
“Paxlovid works exceedingly well,” another agreed.
“Feel better soon. Rest and lots of water,” somebody else suggested, while another emphasized, “Lots of fluids and rest! ❤️.”
“Rest up xx,” someone else repeated.
“Matzo Ball Soup and pizza-in-a-cup will cure just about anything,” a food recommendation followed, while someone else felt the best option was “Chicken soup all day and all night.”
“Oh, feel better, buddy,” a final fan concluded. “Remember laughter is the best medicine.”
With somebody else dubbing the comedian “Mr. Glass Half Full 😮,” it seems clear that he’s taking that to heart.
Luckily, this won’t put a dent in the production schedule of his hit Hulu series with Short and Selena Gomez, as filming wrapped earlier this summer and Season 5 began airing earlier this month. Renée Zellweger and Christoph Waltz are the latest celebrities slated to appear in the star-studded lineup, joining the likes of Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd, but the main trio have their sights set on a few dream guest appearances. Maybe in Season 6?
