“You can see that in the smile as well. It’s a genuine smile – the cheek muscles are engaged, the mouth, the eyes, everything. People always say the eyes are the windows to the soul, and straight away, from that first little bit of video, it’s pretty clear this isn’t just performative for social media.”
He continued: “There are also quite a lot of indicators of social ease and comfort between them. Meghan’s telling the story about the penguins, although we don’t actually see a huge amount of her, from a vocal point of view and in terms of speech analysis, there aren’t really any voice cracks or noticeable changes in tone or pitch.
“So again, she comes across as very genuine and emotionally comfortable in the moment.
“I think the real telltale sign is the kiss over the cake. They’re both facing each other, both holding the base of the cake, and there’s no visible tension there at all. It doesn’t feel staged or awkward.
“There’s nothing in the clip that suggests anything other than the fact that they genuinely do love each other very much.”
