Prince Harry made a TV appearance last night after the World Cup 2026 final match. The Duke of Sussex joined host James Corden on Fox’s “After Hours with James Corden”.
On the show, James – who is believed to be friends with Harry – questioned the prince on how good he is at football and whether he even played at school. James asked the Duke, 41, whether he had played soccer during his school years, joking that the school Harry attended may have been “too posh” for the sport. Harry did answer the question after quickly telling James off for calling it soccer rather than football.
Harry said: “Well, I played football, why are you calling it soccer?”
James then said it’s because they are in America, the country Harry has called home since 2020.
Moving on to answer James’ original question, Harry said: “It was such a posh school that everything was an option. There was a football team.”
When asked whether he was good, the duke replied: “You know what, in prep school, I was on the first team.”
He continued: “And then I went to the bigger school, and I ended up on the E team. Big A team, down to E team. So that didn’t feel very good.”
Harry’s correction of James calling football “soccer” – the American term – may raise some eyebrows, as Harry made the same mistake himself just weeks ago when in the UK.
He quickly corrected himself and moved the conversation on.
