Prince Harry is reportedly “very sad” that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are “missing out on life with the rest of their family”.
A source close to the Duke of Sussex, 41, made reference to Prince William‘s children — Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s cousins — and their ties to the royal family, as they described Harry’s heartache. The insider said: “Harry feels his children are missing out on the extensive family network that their cousins are enjoying.
“Harry wants his children to have the very best education. He has retained his closest friendship group of confidants from his days at school at Ludgrove and Eton. He wants that for his own children… Archie and Lili are having a lovely time in California, but Harry is very sad that they are missing out on life with the rest of their family.”
Yet Meghan Markle, 44, portrayed a picture of domestic happiness by sharing two charming photographs of Archie on Wednesday to mark his seventh birthday. One captured Archie and Lilibet enjoying a seaside outing in the US, where Meghan and Harry have resided since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

Last year, Harry spoke glowingly about life in the US. The father of two had said: “I enjoy living and bringing my kids up here, it’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live and it feels as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me.”
However, close friends believe his views have shifted somewhat of late, particularly following Prince William and Princess Kate’s release of a new photograph and video of Princess Charlotte to celebrate her 11th birthday last Saturday.
This prompted one of Prince Harry‘s friends to tell the Daily Mail that the royal desperately wishes his own children could enjoy a similar upbringing to their cousins; Charlotte, Prince George, 12, and eight year old Prince Louis.
The Prince and Princess of Wales’ children attend the same public school, £32,000-per-year Lambrook in Berkshire. Harry himself was educated at Ludgrove School, another private school in Berkshire, before passing entrance exams and going on to attend Eton College.

It is understood, however, that Meghan is opposed to her children following a similar path. The insider continued: “There is still some negotiation for Harry to have with Meghan. The King, however, is delighted.”
The source’s remarks suggest the Duke had discussed his plans to educate his children in Britain with his father during a meeting for tea at Clarence House last September.
Reports indicate Harry hopes to bring Meghan, and possibly their children, with him when he returns to the UK this summer to promote the Invictus Games for injured and sick former service personnel.
