Additionally, the insider alleged that Harry handed over a framed photo of his family to the king.
However, the Duke’s spokesperson quickly clarified the stance, saying, “Recent reporting of the Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false.” They added that “The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed.”
“One can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son.” Revealing about the gift, the spokesperson confirmed “that a framed photograph was handed over,” but “the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess.”
Looking at how things unfolded, royal expert Tom Sykes claimed in newsletter The Royalist that Harry “had walked right into its jaws by taking the bait.” Moreover, issuing one of his trademark angry outbursts at palace operatives, accusing the “men in grey suits” of leaking “pure invention” to the media with the aim of “sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son,” the duke left the palace “saddened and perplexed.”
The expert now even believes that “having provoked a response” from the Duke of Sussex, “anti-reconciliation courtiers would now be able to say that Harry had betrayed his promise not to re-escalate tensions with the family or stoke controversy.” “The trap just snapped shut,” noted Sykes.
