Prince William revealed the funniest thing a tourist has said on tour of Windsor Castle.
The Prince of Wales made the reveal while chatting to Eugene Levy on his Apple TV+ show, The Reluctant Traveler.
William said it’s “gone down as the sort of number one quote of a tourist going around Windsor Castle.”
There’s been a lot of press about Prince William’s appearance on Eugene Levy’s Apple TV+ show The Reluctant Traveler—mostly due to “controversial” comments he made about the monarchy that allegedly upset King Charles. But William also dished some behind-the-scenes intel about life at Windsor Palace, and revealed a comment from a tourist that still has the royals laughing.
“The tour guides get to hear some funny stories,” William said, per The Express. “We heard back one time, that I won’t name the nationality of the tourist, but they’re looking around the castle going, ‘Wow this place is incredible, but why did they have to build the castle so close to Heathrow airport?'”
Obviously, Windsor Castle was built well before Heathrow Airport—like, literally in the 11th century. Meanwhile, Heathrow was built in the 30s. And apparently the royals found the tourist’s comment hilarious, with William saying it’s “gone down as the sort of number one quote of a tourist going around Windsor Castle.”
Okay but genuinely fear this is something I would say during a castle tour.
