The Queen’s edition, released to mark her 75th birthday, became the biggest-selling issue in the magazine’s history, selling almost 70,000 copies and lifting sales throughout the rest of the year.
In October, Sir David Beckham became the first person outside the Royal family to guest edit the magazine in October after he admitted reading every edition “cover-to-cover”.
The Prince runs the £1bn Duchy of Cornwall rural estate, which covers 128,494 acres across 20 counties, and which he took on in 2022.
In his role as head of the estate as the Duke of Cornwall, he told The Telegraph last year: “We’re not the traditional landowner, we want to be more than that.”
In 2023, he launched a mental health scheme for the Duchy to support farmers, and said at the time it was his “absolute priority” in his approach to running the estate that his tenants felt supported.
He has also previously spoken about his intention to make the estate a “positive force for good” that will “make people’s lives better”.
A significant part of his mission with the 700-year-old Duchy – as well as to “modernise” it – has been supporting the mental health of farmers and arranging get-togethers to combat rural loneliness.
The Prince aims to visit parts of the estate once every four to six weeks, often meeting families and staff during private visits.
His edition of Country Life will also follow his father posing for the magazine’s front cover last November after the “remarkable” restoration of his 20,000-acre Sandringham estate.
Leaning gently on his shepherd’s crook, the King smiles proudly on the cover as he shows off the restored gardens at his Norfolk estate.
