During these visits, Catherine spent time talking to employees and members of the public, and revealed that the family now owned two dogs rather than just one. This revelation was made at the Hiut Denim factory in Cardigan when Catherine met a cocker spaniel named Barney.
Catherine was asked how old her family pets are. The future Queen said: “So we’ve got a little puppy, he’s only 8 months, and Orla’s 5.”
It is believed the puppy Catherine mentioned is one of Orla’s litter, with their family dog having given birth last year.
The photograph, shared on social media, was signed: “Love C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies!”
It is believed the family only kept one puppy from Orla’s litter.
While Catherine did confirm the family had a puppy, she did not confirm what the puppy has been named.
It is likely her and William’s children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis would have had a say in the naming process.
It is also believed that the three royal children will have some sort of responsibility when it comes to caring for the puppy, with William and Catherine wanting their children to have as ordinary an upbringing as possible.
