In 2018, Princess Eugenie moved into her own property, Ivy Cottage, at Kensington Palace, with her now husband, Jack Brooksbank. The couple and their two sons now divide their time between the cottage and a villa in Portugal.
The rental arrangements were put in place under the reign of their grandmother, Elizabeth II, and have since been honoured by the King, via the Privy Purse, his private income derived from the Duchy of Lancaster.
However, they are expected to be reviewed within a year.
Royal sources confirmed that all financial matters are kept under “regular review”.
The NAO report noted that the Princesses have lease agreements known as licences which are “agreed annually for a one-year period”.
