Priscilla Block poses during Country Now LIVE on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, in Nashville, Tenn.
A little bit of the farm and a lot of the country is coming back to the Clark County Fairgrounds this fall when the country music and community festival started by a Clark County native returns.
Tickets are for sale for the third annual Hasting Farm Fest, led by Northwestern High School graduate and professional singer-songwriter Kate Hasting, 1-9 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Fairgrounds, 4401 S. Charleston Pike. The event will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.
Singer-songwriter Priscilla Block will headline the show, along with three other acts to perform. The Nashville Hit Songwriter Fall Showcase will begin the live portion. The festival will also include food trucks, local and artisan vendors, farm activities, a kids’ zone and camping.
Farm Fest began not just as another music festival, but to also reflect some of what Clark County is all about, according to event organizers.
“It’s intimate and fun,” said event coordinator Libbee Hasting. “It’s important to highlight the agricultural background in Clark County. And country music is important in this county.”
The COVID-19 pandemic boosted Block’s career after releasing her song “Just About Over You” in 2020, and by the following year, she landed a recording contract, leading to nominations from the Academy of Country Music Awards and Country Music Television. Her latest LP, “Things You Didn’t See,” was released in fall 2025.
Also performing will be Dalton Dover, who audiences may recognize from season 16 of the NBC hit series “The Voice,” where he was coached by Blake Shelton. He has built a fanbase through TikTok.
Local talent will be represented by the Matt Clarkson Band, led by South Charleston native and lead singer, rhythm guitarist and founding member, Matt Clarkson, and guitarist Kelly Bush, raised just outside Springfield.
Kate Hasting will round out the performers. She has made the Clark County Fairgrounds a second home over the years, returning to perform at the Clark County Fair each July – including July 30 this year – and at various events when not in Nashville or touring around the country.
There’s also the popular Nashville Hit Songwriters Fall Showcase, running from 2:15-4:15 p.m. as part of Farm Fest this year. Attendees can hear stories behind the songs in the round and meet the songwriters. Participants will include Dover, Brian White, Keesy Timmer, Pete Sallis, Lance Carpenter, Bigg Vinny, Sarah Jones, Allie Sarvin and Parker Fulk of local band Allison Road.
“It’s interesting to hear the stories behind the songs you hear on the radio,” said Libbee Hasting.
She also highlighted the other aspects of Farm Fest that include plenty of family-friendly activities at the fairgrounds’ youth building. Other highlights include an antique tractor show, a meet and greet with former Ohio State football players, an up-close appearance by a CareFlight helicopter and an adult bouncy house obstacle course.
Libbee Hasting said the majority of the festival will be in an area where weather shouldn’t be a factor, and more vendors, food choices and community services resources will add more convenience. The charitable aspect of Farm Fest shouldn’t be discounted either, including a live auction to support Second Harvest.
“The festival supports local things and it’s important for us to help with hunger in the area with Second Harvest,” she said.
