Grammy Jury member and Governor’s National Awardee and GIMA awardee Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee recently conducted a music workshop at Autism Ashram, Hyderabad, in collaboration with Sangitanjali Foundation. The workshop, themed “Healing Through Music,” highlighted the therapeutic potential of music and its role in supporting emotional expression, communication and relaxation among autistic children.
Speaking on the occasion, Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee, chairman, Sangitanjali Foundation, emphasised the significant benefits of music therapy for autistic children. He said: “Music is a bridge to healing and inclusion.”
He noted that music can help improve communication, emotional regulation and social skills. “These workshops calm and heal their minds. It helps to grow their mental health. Besides that, it’s our primary responsibility to give them a better world,” he added.

The event was a joyful occasion, with children participating enthusiastically and making it a truly memorable day.
Praising the initiative, Anil Kundra, president of Autism Ashram, said: “Music therapy is a game-changer for autistic children.”
The therapy involved minimal sensory overload and soothing tones through the use of instruments such as the Tabla and djembe.
The programme was equally enjoyed by the parents who accompanied the children.
