A mysterious new movie meant a pub in Witney became a filming venue over the weekend, and may feature a cameo from the landlord.
The Eagle Tavern had an “exciting” start to Saturday morning when a film crew descended to use its classic pub interior in a feature length piece.
Lights, cameras and actors were all part of the job which went ahead as the venue’s regular staff prepared to open for a busy afternoon.

“It was interesting to see and listen to their work while we got on with ours.
“There might even be a little ‘cameo’ by landlord Paul in the final cut.”

The film is a small, no-budget independent feature from a Bicester director, Gurdeep Samra.
He said they’re filming most weekends and hope to complete the project with their small team by spring or summer next year, but he declined to reveal what the film is about.

Mr Samra thanked the landlord for being “kind enough to allow us to film a scene there”.
It is not the first time the picturesque Eagle Tavern has seen a glimpse of showbiz with an industry information film also choosing the venue as its set of choice previously.
The historic pub, known locally as The Tav, first opened as a coaching house in the 1700s, and remains a quintessential Cotswolds pub with charming historic features.
