Punk in the Corn is a festival that will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10-11, at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 W. Locust St., Davenport, with a celebration of independent music, community and giving back.
Gates open at 11 a.m. Oct. 10, with music and food starting at 12:30 p.m. Bands will include Saints of the Youth, False Positive, Peach Leather, Defiant, Nth Degree, Fly Over Fury, Dead Body Diversion, JM Garageworks, Overthrow, Psycho Death Punk, Nevin , Sangria Furlo, The Rising Fall, The Fraz Band, Trick Shot, and Green Jelly.
On Oct. 11, gates will open at 11 a.m., with food and music starting at 12:30 p.m. Bands will include Izzy Starchild and the Psychedelic Rose, Nth Degree, Nine Point Theory, Defiant, Halfway Homeless, Jozey and the Corruption, Up by Noon, Next to Midnight, Bitter Nothings, Sonny B, the Blanched Corinthians, the Flying Beets, Harro, Even Without Life, The Quits, and Kathleen Turner Overdrive.
Those younger than 18 will be admitted with parent or legal guardian .
Sixty percent of the profits will go to the Wounded Warrior Project, Ki9s for Warriors and Child Mind Institute.
Food trucks will be featured, and on-site camping will be available.
According to its website, Punk in the Corn LLC is built on the idea of bringing people together through underground music and a judgment-free community: “Our mission is to champion the underdogs, giving a platform to independent artist and voices that deserve to be heard,” the website says.
